Sleet Storm / Piano Recording / "Laughing" Party / Recent Eats :)

Hi, everyone! Hope your weekend is going great!!! It's icy around here so I'm staying put until things melt a bit. Fantastic opportunity to call and catch up with friends and do some organizing. :)

I spent some time at a beautiful old church yesterday working on a recording. :) Here's a little sample!

My sister Allie and I decided to we needed to add an extra sprinkle of laughter to life's current so we hosted a casual get together Thursday night with a few close friends, with the official invite asking people to come "ready to laugh".

Fine. Call us crazy, laughing hyenas. But, total fun! So much so that no one left with out insisting that we do this again soon. {he-he!}

For example, one hilarious topic discussed was the irrational fear of wasting a perfectly good outfit on an a day where nothing exciting happens. :p Anyone else have this issue? {lol!}

Ok, onto some recent healthy eats! Avocado for healthy fats, anyone?

Need a quick and easy 3 ingredient idea for lunch? Try this! Mixed greens, kidney beans and salad dressing of your choice. I did this for a quicky on Tuesday. :)

The workouts this week did not go the way I had planned . . .  after Monday's 3.5 miler I pretty much wasn't able to walk any day of the week without feeling a strain in my lower leg. So I'm trying to listen to my body versus just pushing through (which is extremely hard) - and giving it time to heal. Have you experienced running injuries? What do you do?

Not saying I have a stress fracture - I mean, I have no idea! But, I thought this was an interesting article!

What's the weather like where you live?

Do you like avocados?

What about beans - would you eat them as a salad topping?

Would you consider hosting a "laughing party" for your *best* friends or is it too craaazzzy for you? :p

I love beans on salad. In fact, just finished lunch . . . a big salad with chickpeas on top! They are my favorite type to throw on salads.

Hope you're leg is feeling better. I've dealt with so many over-usage injuries, it's crazy. Give yourself the time to heal . . . it's better than making it worse, which will only prolong the amount of time it takes to get back to it. Keep yourself busy with something that doesn't irritate your leg in the meantime. :)

I've learned how important it is to rest after any type of injury. It is really hard though because they take awhile to heal. I do have that ridiculous fear! It's so silly :)

Hey Katherine, the weather today in Vic, Australia is very humid, sort of a tropical feel today. Love avocados and so do my children, love beans and have them HEAPS in salads in summer and soups in winter. A laughing party is an awesome idea, being crazy is being real! Love it! Love the piano too! :)

Michelle, your salad with chickpeas sounds amazing! I need to try that variation. :) Thanks for the encouragement to heal - I need it! Especially since I'm dying to go for a run!

Me too, Lauren - thanks!

Kristin that is so funny! Glad to know we're not the only ones with that craaazzy "fear". I agree, it's absolutely ridiculous. :p

Yliena - thanks, girl!

@ Z - absolutely! Thanks. :)

Wow, Sarah! Can I come for a visit???? :) That's so great that you're cultivating healthy tastes in your kids! They'll thank you for it one day. :) Glad you liked the piano piece!
