Needing Advice: When It Just Isn't You Anymore

Ok, folks- I need advice! Like, ah . . . RIGHT NOW! ! !

I was scrolling back through some of my very first posts just now and even though I know it was a year ago- I cringed, told myself it was ok and then cringed some more.

Not to discourage you if you're just laying the foundation on your own blog (we all have to start somewhere!), but I feel like ripping out mine!

What should I do?

A. Delete everything.

B. Tie my hands behind my back so I can't reach the delete button.

OR

C. Deep breath- it's ok. Someone, somewhere will appreciate and learn from my ramblings. ;p

You decide! Let me know . . . =)

Just leave it all up, life's a learning process. I went through a rant one time frustrated and deleted all of my posts, I wish I hadn't looking back. Check out kristensraw.com she's been touting full on vegan raw for years and just recently she made the transition to paleo, it was quite refreshing to see her be honest in her journey!

Keep them...they can be really fun to read in a few more years. I've had a blog for the last 5 years and don't look past a year ago unless I want to laugh at how much of a dork I was. ha.

I'd definitely leave them up. I'm embarrassed by a lot of my first posts too, but I feel like they just showcase how much I've grown since then. :)

I feel the same way when I go back to the beginning of my blog... horrible pictures.. and some crazy ramblings .. especially during the Bush years in office!.. but I've left it all up.. and I'm glad I have.

Agree, leave them up. I have the same thing on my blog and although I do cringe, I also like to see how far I have come. You also may get inspiration from them and end up doing update posts. I have thought about doing that.

The only reason I do go back and change things is when I have taken a better picture or if I learn new rules about blogging, i.e. not using a photo without permission (even if I reference a source). I have been taking those photos down.

Go with option C! I'll admit I've had the same thought sometimes, but I just leave it alone and forget it's even there. You're right, someone might appreciate it - even if you don't.

I have been tempted to do the same thing with my older posts but have opted to turn away and keep them up. If a blog is like a window into your daily life it should stay up to show how you have evolved, as a person and a blogger. If you really are hating a post or two you can always un-publish it but don't delete it completely. You may find it helpful someday or just as fun as reading your middle school diary :)

That's such a pretty picture of you. I've also thought of deleting some of my past posts, but in the end, I'm glad I didn't. You should keep them. They are a part of what made you, you.

B. Don't delete them. I want to go back through and read them myself :)
